Breathe

Prophesy to the breath

As I reflected on Ezekiel 37:1-14, my Beloved LORD GOD showed me that it was not just the middle of any valley, HE brought HIS prophet Ezekiel to. This valley was quiet literally an open graveyard full of very dry, fragmented bones (Eze 37:7). These bones represented how the nation of Israel felt; empty, hopeless and helpless (Eze 37:11). But there is nothing impossible with HIM, even in death HE calls forth life. By HIS WORD a valley of fragmented, dry bones, came to life and became an exceedingly great army (Eze 37:10).

There are numerous examples throughout The BIBLE where HIS WORD brought forth life out of death. In Genesis the deadness of a 90 year old woman’s womb brought forth a son (Rom 4:19-20, Gen 17:15-17,Gen 21:1-7).  In Kings and Luke sons were returned to mothers (1 Kin 17:8-24, 2 Kin 4:8-37, Luk 7:12-15). In Mark a daughter was given back to her parents (Mrk 5:35-43). In John a brother was called from the tomb (Jhn 11:1-44). In Acts a kind and generous godly woman was restored to life (Act 9:36-42)…

HE is the same yesterday, today and forever! (Heb 13:8) When you trust in HIM, you will not be disappointed (Psa 22:4-5). HE can breathe life back into those dreams, hopes and promises that seem long dead.

Keep your eyes on HIM; from your innermost being, live a life that is pleasing to HIM; and trust HIM for HIS timing and outcome.

This I recall to my mind,
Therefore I have hope.
The LORD’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease,
For HIS compassions never fail.
They are new every morning;
Great is YOUR faithfulness.
“The LORD is my portion,” says my soul,
“Therefore I have hope in HIM.”
The LORD is good to those who wait for HIM,
To the person who seeks HIM.
Lamentations 3:21-25

How GOD Makes our Faith Greater Than our Fear (Part 3 – Laying Aside Sin which So Easily Entangles Us)

laying aside deeds of darknessTherefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us
Let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us
And let us run with endurance the race that is set before us
Hebrews 12:1 (NASB translation)

In this third part of our study in Hebrews 12:1-3, we will examine how laying aside the sin which so easily entangles us, will completely change the way we think, the way we speak, and the way we behave (Rom 13:12-14, Eph 4:22-23).

What is the sin which so easily entangles? To fully understand “the sin which so easily entangles us.” We need to define the phrase in two parts.
The first part, “the sin” is transliterated from the Greek word “hamartia” (NT:266). According to Vine’s Expository Dictionary of Biblical Words, “the sin” does not mean a single type of sin, instead it is the most comprehensive term for turning aside from righteousness. It is used of “sin” as a:
(a) principle or source of action, or an inward element producing acts of disobedience ( Rom 3:9, Rom 5:12-13)
(b) organized governing principle or power (Rom 6:6), that uses the will (the seat of sin) to carry out individual sins throughout the physical body (Rom 6:12-14, Rom 7:17-25, Heb 12:4)
(c) generic term (distinct from specific terms, yet sometimes inclusive of concrete wrong doing ― Jhn 8:21, Jhn 8:34, Jhn 8:46, Jhn 9:41, Jhn 15:22,24)
(d) sinful deed (Matt 12:31, Acts 7:60, James 1:15), or act, (Jam 4:17, Jam 5:15-16)

The second part, “which so easily entangles us” is the English phrase transliterated from the Greek word “euperistatos” (NT:2139). This Greek word does not occur anywhere else in the New Testament, and it means “to skillfully surround.” It is sin which ambushes or attacks from all sides, it never stops bothering the individual, and given the opportunity it will:
(a) persistently hamper forward movement in the Christian walk (Gal 5:7)
(b) doggedly hinder the course set before the Christian, tirelessly attempting to slow down the progress of GOD’s spiritual call to service for every Christian (Act 13:25, Act 20:24, 2 Tim 4:7)
(c) prevent progress to Christian maturity (1 Cor 3:1-3, 2 Tim 3:8, Heb 5:12-14)

Are there examples of this sin? Yes it will present itself in three different ways. First, it will be the unrighteous behavior habitually practiced before coming to JESUS CHRIST. It can be any combination of pride, lying, anger, skepticism, laziness, quarreling, greed, unforgiveness, jealousy, sensuality… These ungodly behaviors will repeatedly try to entangle the child of GOD, by waging war from within them (Rom 7:14-25). Second, this sin will use the lure of ungodly relationships, to ambush the child of GOD (Jam 4:4, 2 Cor 6:14-18, 1 Cor 15:33-34, Psa 14:1↔Pro 13:20). And third, it will try to entice the child of GOD to make use of things offered by men who have chosen to be alienated from GOD (1 Jhn 2:15-17, Heb 11:24-26, 1 Pet 4:1-4).

How can one lay aside that sin? Only through our Beloved LORD JESUS CHRIST! HE rescued us from the authority or power of darkness (Col 1:13), and filled us with the power of HIS Holy SPIRIT (Eph 3:16, Php 4:13, Col 1:11-12), enabling us to lay aside the old sinful self with its deeds of darkness (Eph 4:22, Rom 13:12). We are strengthened daily, by continually drawing near to GOD (Jam 4:8, Psa 73:28, Psa 36:7, Psa 63:7-8); calling upon HIS NAME (2 Sam 22:4, Psa 50:15, Isa 55:6, Pro 18:10); and putting on the righteous garments HE has given us (Isa 61:10, Rom 13:14, Eph 4:24, Col 3:10); which causes our relationship with HIM to grow (1 Jhn 1:5-7).

How does one daily put on righteous garments? By seeking to be in HIS presence (Psa 27:8), through worship (thankfully honoring GOD for WHO HE is, and all HE has done ― Psa 99:1-5), through prayer (respectfully conversing with GOD ― Ecc 5:1-3, Mat 6:5-15, Php 4:13-14), through study (thoroughly learning and acquiring understanding concerning what was learned in HIS WORD ― Ezr 7:10, Psa 119:34, Psa 119:125, Pro 4:7), through meditation (attentively reflecting upon, and intently thinking about HIS WORD ― Psa 4:4, Psa 63:6, Psa 119:15, Psa 119:48, Psa 119:148), and through obedience (carefully doing what HIS WORD says to do, and not doing what HIS WORD says not to do ― Deu 12:28, Mat 7:24-25, Luk 11:28, Eph 5:15, Jam 1:23-25).

But flee from these things, you man of GOD
And pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness
Fight the good fight of faith
Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called
And you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses
I charge you in the presence of GOD, WHO gives life to all things
And of CHRIST JESUS, WHO testified the good confession before Pontius Pilate
That you keep the commandment without stain or reproach
Until the appearing of our LORD JESUS CHRIST
1 Timothy 6:11-14

Unless Your Righteousness

pharisee and tax collector Luke 18 9-14 2For I say to you
That unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees
You will not enter the kingdom of heaven
Matthew 5:20

What is the “righteousness” of the scribes and Pharisees? To fully answer this question, let’s first define righteousness.

The English word “righteousness” in Matthew 5:20 is transliterated from the Greek word “dikaiosúnee” (NT:1343) and is defined as:
the character or quality of being righteous (1 Jhn 2:29, 1 Jhn 3:7), upright (Pro 16:17, Pro 21:8) or just (1 Pet 3:18, Rom 5:6-9)
conforming to the revealed will of GOD or living a life according to The WORD (Jhn 4:34, Psa 119:6-12, Pro 19:16)
living a life approved by GOD (Jhn 8:29, Rom 12:2, Eph 5:10, Heb 13:20-21)
devoted to a sinless life from your innermost being (Psa 15:1-5, Psa 19:14, Psa 24:3-4, Psa 104:34, Psa 119:97-104)

Before moving forward, it is important, to pause and fully comprehend that, righteousness can only be attained through our Beloved LORD JESUS CHRIST. Apart from HIM we can do nothing (Jhn 15:5).

The scribes and the Pharisees rejected JESUS CHRIST (Luk 9:20-22, Act 4:1-12), yet considered their lives righteous, because they lived according to The LAW of GOD (Rom 9:31-32, Rom 10:2-3, Rom 10:5). Their righteousness was based on their own understanding and ability to keep/obey The LAWS of GOD. Even Paul, who was a Pharisee (Php 3:5) formerly known by his Hebrew name Saul, believed his righteousness to be blameless (Php 3:6, Php 3:9), though guilty of beating, persecuting, imprisoning and murdering believers (Act 22:19-20, Act 26:10-11, 1 Tim 1:13). When reflecting on the beliefs and behavior of the scribes and Pharisees, it is important to consider the following truth:

For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point
He has become guilty of all
For HE who said, “DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY,” also said, “DO NOT COMMIT MURDER.”
Now if you do not commit adultery, but do commit murder
You have become a transgressor of The LAW
James 2:10-11

Is there an example of what the righteousness of scribes and Pharisees looked like? Yes there are several, the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees was:
based on outer appearances (Mat 23:5) and public reputation (Mat 6:1-2, Mat 6:5, Mat 6:7, Mat 6:16), instead of a private life that pleases GOD (Psa 15:2, Psa 51:6, Mat 6:3-4, Mat 6:6, Mat 6:8, Mat 6:17-18).
based on hypocrisy (Mat 23:14), pretending to live a life of holiness (Mat 23:25-28); teaching others to live lives they did not (Mat 23:1-3, Rom 2:17-23)
based on works, they measured their holiness on what they did (Luk 18:12, Mat 7:21-23, 1 Cor 13:1-3↔1 Jhn 4:8)
filled with pride (Mrk 12:38-39, Luk 18:9-11, Isa 65:5)
that which caused anger when exposed (Luk 4:24-30, Luk 6:6-11, Act 7:51-54)
that which deceives the one practicing it (Psa 36:1-2, Jer 17:9), the chief priests and scribes beat and tortured our Beloved LORD JESUS CHRIST all night, and sought HIS murder the next day (Mat 27:1-2, Luk 22:1-2), yet they stayed outside of the praetorium so they wouldn’t defile themselves and be unable to eat the Passover meal (Jhn 18:28)

How does one have righteousness that exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees? Through faith in CHRIST JESUS (Php 3:9), a sincere desire to know HIM and to know HIS WORD (1 Chr 16:8-12, Psa 25:4-5, 1 Jhn 2:3-6, 1 Jhn 5:20), and obedience to HIS WORD (Psa 119:9-11, Psa 119:33-35, Luk 11:28).

But by HIS doing you are in CHRIST JESUS
WHO became to us wisdom from GOD
And righteousness and sanctification, and redemption
1 Corinthians 1:30

How GOD Makes our Faith Greater Than our Fear (Part 2 – Laying Aside Encumbrances)

Carrying a heavy burden 2Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us
Let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us
And let us run with endurance the race that is set before us
Fixing our eyes on JESUS, the author and perfecter of faith
Who for the joy set before HIM endured the cross, despising the shame
And has sat down at the right hand of the throne of GOD
For consider HIM who has endured such hostility by sinners against HIMSELF
So that you will not grow weary and lose heart
Hebrews 12:1-3

In this second part of our study in Hebrews 12:1-3, we will define what encumbrances are. We will also examine those who held onto encumbrances versus those who trusted GOD.

What is an encumbrance? An encumbrance is defined as anything that hinders our progress, by weighing us down. An encumbrance is any kind of burden we carry, that causes our obedience to and trust in GOD, to be stalled, obstructed, or restrained.

Are there specific examples of encumbrances? Yes, we will look at four: fear, impatience, self-pity and worry

Fear is to be in dread, to be afraid, or to feel alarmed.
The Israelites from twenty years old and upward, whom GOD delivered out of Egypt, held onto their fear from the shore of the Red Sea, to the border of the promised land (Num 14:28-33, Exd 14:8-12, Num 13:1-33, Num 14:1-4). Though our Beloved LORD GOD had performed miracle after miracle in bringing the nation of Israel out of the cruel bondage in Egypt (Exd chptrs 7-12, Psa 78:40-51), and throughout the wilderness (Psa 78:9-39). The nation of Israel did not believe in HIM (Exd 6:9, Deu 1:30-33, Psa 78:21-22), nor HIS WORD to bring them into the Promised Land (Exd 6:6-8). Their continual unbelief in HIM and rejection of HIS WORD caused them to die in the wilderness (Heb 3:15-19).
Gideon was too afraid to obey The LORD’s commandments by day, so he carried them out at night (Jdg 6:25-27). Gideon knew he had seen the angel of The LORD (Jdg 6:11-22), and trusted in HIS Words (Jdg 6:14-16 Jdg 6:23-24), so though he was afraid, disobedience was not an option. When Gideon felt uneasy about going into battle with enemies that were as numerous as locusts (Jdg 7:12), he did not refuse to obey, instead he asked for confirmation of GOD’s WORD (Jdg 6:36-40). On the eve of battle with 300 men and no weapons (Jdg 7:9-23), Gideon again felt afraid and our Beloved LORD GOD encouraged him to go down with his servant to hear what was being said (Jdg 7:7-15). Gideon’s faith in our Beloved LORD GOD and HIS WORDS was greater than his fear of defeat/death. Our GOD used 301 men, a trumpet, an empty pitcher, and a torch to defeat a mighty army (Jdg 7:16-25). Gideon’s testimony among many other testimonies (Exd 14:13-30, 1 Sam 14:1-23, 1 Chr 14:13-15, 2 Chr 14:2-15, 2 Chr 20:1-30), teaches us why we should not be afraid to obey GOD’s will. And theses testimonies reminds us, that our Beloved LORD GOD ways are not our ways (Isa 55:8). And HE works beyond our understanding (Pro 3:5) so that no man would boast except in HIM (1 Cor 1:26-31).

Impatience is the inability to wait calmly for something desired; incapable of enduring difficult circumstances without complaining.
Aaron did not patiently wait for Moses return as instructed (Exd 24:12-18). Even though he, his sons Nadab, Abihu and 70 elders of Israel had seen and fellowshipped with our Living GOD, and knew that GOD indeed existed (Exd 24:9-11); Aaron not only failed to wait for the return of Moses, nor stand firm against the people’s sinful desires (Exd 32:1), but it was he who personally made the golden calf and an altar to worship it (Exd 32:2-5, Deu 9:20).
King David had many enemies who sought to kill him, but he patiently waited for GOD’s deliverance (Psa 3:1-8, Psa 40:1-4). King Saul and his army hunted him to kill him, yet he did not seek to kill our LORD’s anointed King, he waited for our Beloved LORD’s deliverance (1 Sam 24:1-22, 1 Sam 26:1-25). And when news came that his enemy had been killed (1 Sam 31:1-6), he did not rejoice, instead he mourned (2 Sam 1:1-16, Pro 24:17-18). King David had a heart after GOD, which meant he was obedient to our Beloved LORD GOD’s WORD, and trusted completely in HIM (Act 13:22). As a result, he was never disappointed or ashamed because he believed and patiently waited on our GOD (Psa 25:3, Psa 22:1-5).

Self-pity is to feel sorry for one’s self; be depressed about one’s situation; or resentful about how one is treated. Even those in ministry or those who think they are doing the right thing can be subject to self-pity.
The threat by Jezebel against Elijah the prophet, caused him to flee in fear (1 Kin 19:1-4). Though our Beloved LORD GOD had just used Elijah to do a great work in Israel (1 Kin 18:17-40), Jezebel’s threat to kill Elijah by the next day, caused him to flee to the wilderness in fear, which turned into self-pity (1 Kin 19:1-4). Even still, our compassionate GOD did not condemn him for his self-pity, rather, HE sent HIS angel to strengthen him so he could endure a long journey to the mountain of GOD (1 Kin 19:5-8). Upon Elijah’s arrival at the mountain, our LORD asked him twice “what are you doing here, Elijah?” (1 Kin 19:8-14). Our Beloved LORD GOD didn’t question Elijah because HE needed information. Being GOD, HE knows everything (Pro 15:3, Heb 4:13). Rather, HIS question to Elijah was to provide an opportunity for Elijah to voice the reason he wanted to die (1 Kin 19:4). And in HIS mercy HE visibly demonstrated to HIS prophet he was not alone. Truly HIS presence and the demonstration of HIS power can be found in awesome and powerful manifestations (1 Kin 19:11-12, Exd 19:18, Eze 1:4-28), but HIS faithful servants will also find HIS gentle voice in quiet places (1 Kin 19:12-13, Isa 30:15, Isa 30:21, Mat 10:27).
The older brother of the prodigal son felt resentful about his perceived treatment. His anger and self-pity about not being thrown a party by his father, completely blinded him to the mercy and grace being extended by a loving father to a lost and hurting son (Luk 15:25-32). I have often wondered, since the older brother was aware that his little brother had devoured his father’s wealth with prostitutes (Luk 15:30), why did he not know about the dire situation his little brother was living in (Luk 15:14-16). The older brother’s reaction is a reminder of our Beloved LORD GOD’s WORD in 1 John 4:7-8, “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from GOD; and everyone who loves is born of GOD and knows GOD. The one who does not love does not know GOD, for GOD is love.”

Worry is to feel uneasy, anxious, or nervous.
After the departure from Egypt, the Israelites constantly worried about physical needs (Exd 15:22-25, Exd 16:1-8). Despite GOD’s constant provision for them (Neh 9:20-21), their incessant focus on themselves, did not bring dependence on GOD or gratefulness for HIS provisions (Deu 29:5-6, Psa 118:28-29, 1 Ths 5:18). Instead they had lack of reverence for, nor belief in HIM (Num 14:11). The Israelites, did not cease to grumble, and complain against our Beloved LORD GOD and HIS leaders (Num 14:27, Num 11:1-6).
The righteous who trust GOD are not afraid of men nor circumstances. The attack of men do not make them afraid or uneasy (Psa 56:1-11, Act 4:18-31), nor do circumstances make them nervous (Jer 17:7-8) or anxious (Psa 91:1-9, Psa 94:17-19, 2 Cor 12:7-10, Php 4:10-14).

Cast your burden upon The LORD
And HE will sustain you;
HE will never allow the righteous to be shaken
Psalm 55:22

HE is My HOPE

HE Is my HOPE 2For YOU are my hope
O LORD GOD
YOU are my confidence from my youth
Psalm 71:5

Throughout our lifetimes situations or circumstances will come up where we periodically struggle with feeling hopeless, as there seems to be no solution. This hopeless feeling is a strong indicator of your level of trust in GOD for what is beyond your control. You can be like Abraham and hope against hope (to have hope when it seems baseless―Rom 4:18), or you can be like the nation of Israel who declared in Ezekiel 37:11, “our bones are dried up and our hope has perished. We are completely cut off.”

When our Beloved LORD GOD told Abraham HE would give him a son with his wife Sarah, he fell on his face and laughed because he was 100 years old and Sarah who had been barren all her life (Gen 11:30) was 90 years old (Gen 17:15-17). But his laughing did not stop his trusting GOD to do what HE promised (Rom 4:19-22). And our faithful GOD did indeed give him and his wife Sarah a son (Gen 21:1-5).

When one continues to focus on their hopeless situation, instead of focusing on the goodness of GOD, their hopeless feeling will turn into a state of hopelessness, accompanied by depression. In Ezekiel 37:1-14, our Beloved LORD GOD teaches us hopelessness is a grave (Eze 37:12-13), a dry and weary place (Psa 63:1, Psa 143:6) without water or the presence of GOD (Eze 37:1-2, Jer 2:13, Jhn 4:10-14, Jhn 7:37-38). And yet in this same passage of Scripture, HE encourages those without hope, that what is impossible for them is possible with HIM (Mrk 10:27). By HIS WORD and HIS SPIRIT, HE can restore life (Eze 37:3-10, Eze 37:14, Luk 7:12-17, Jhn 11:38-44).

If you are at a place in your life where you feel like the prophet Jeremiah “my soul has been rejected from peace, I have forgotten happiness. So I say, “my strength has perished, and so has my hope from the LORD” (Lam 3:17-18). Then strengthen yourself in The LORD as King David did in the midst of his crisis (1 Sam 30:6). Begin by reminding yourself just WHO our Beloved LORD GOD is (Lam 3:19-26), and all that HE has done for you (Psa 103:2-5, Rom 5:8). Then comfort yourself through HIS WORD, which is the consolations of your soul (Psa 94:17-19), do a word study on “hope.” Here are some Scriptures to help you begin:

Psalm 33:18-22
Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear HIM, on those who hope for HIS lovingkindness. To deliver their soul from death and to keep them alive in famine. Our soul waits for The LORD; HE is our help and our shield. For our heart rejoices in HIM, because we trust in HIS holy name. Let YOUR lovingkindness, O LORD, be upon us, according as we have hoped in YOU.

Psalm 38:15
For I hope in YOU, O LORD; YOU will answer, O LORD my GOD.

Psalm 42:11
Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in GOD, for I shall yet praise HIM. The help of my countenance and my GOD.

As you strengthen yourself in The WORD, your soul will be revived (Psa 119:25, Psa 143:11) and refreshing will come (Jer 31:25, Act 3:19). It is then you will understand why HE is our hope (Psa 71:5), and our hope in HIM is literally the anchor of our soul (Heb 6:19, Psa 62:5-6).

In closing, a personal relationship with JESUS CHRIST (Jhn 14:6) is the only way to know The GOD of hope (Rom 15:13). Our hope in GOD comes through HIM (1 Tim 1:1)

But YOU, O LORD, are a shield about me,
My glory, and The ONE WHO lifts my head.
Psalm 3:3

How GOD Makes our Faith Greater Than our Fear

bible-readingTherefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us
Let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us
And let us run with endurance the race that is set before us
Fixing our eyes on JESUS, the author and perfecter of faith
Who for the joy set before HIM endured the cross, despising the shame
And has sat down at the right hand of the throne of GOD
For consider HIM who has endured such hostility by sinners against HIMSELF
So that you will not grow weary and lose heart
Hebrews 12:1-3

In Hebrews 12:1-3 our Beloved LORD GOD gives us six ways to increase our faith, so that it becomes greater than our fear:
1) So great a cloud of witnesses. Carefully examine all those introduced to us in Hebrews chapter 11, which bear witness that a life of faith in GOD can be achieved in any and all circumstances
2) Laying aside encumbrances. Get rid of anything that hinders our obedience to and trust in GOD
3) Laying aside sin. Abstain from or refuse to continue in those sins so freely indulged in before surrendering our lives to CHRIST
4) Run with endurance. Endure and persevere in living as a follower of CHRIST JESUS (Christian) from your innermost being
5) Fix our eyes on JESUS. Turn your focus from everything and concentrate your gaze upon on JESUS
6) Consider HIM. Look at carefully at; keep in mind; ponder how JESUS lived HIS during HIS time here on earth

So great a cloud of witnesses. Carefully examine all those introduced to us in Hebrews chapter 11 (the great cloud of witnesses who are part of the Hall of Fame of Faith). Our brethren mentioned in the 11th chapter of Hebrews, bear witness or attest to (serve as proof of) that a life of faith in GOD can be achieved in any and all circumstances. Don’t just read their names in the 11th chapter of Hebrews, prayerfully study their lives, in the Books of The BIBLE where their acts of faith were first mentioned. As you read about them, ask our Beloved GOD why HE chose them to bear witness as an example and encouragement in our lives.

For example, in Hebrews 11:4, our Beloved LORD GOD tells us that “by faith Abel offered to HIM a better sacrifice than Cain. So let us examine Abel’s faith in Genesis 4:1-10. In this passage of Scripture, we are given information about him, his brother Cain, and our Beloved GOD’s interaction. But only through prayer and careful examination, are we given insight into Cain, Abel’s faith and our Beloved GOD’s response to and communication with:
• Cain is Abel’s older brother (Gen 4:1-2)
• Cain was a tiller of the ground (gardener), and Abel was a keeper of flocks (shepherd) – (Gen 4:2)
• Cain and Abel both brought offerings, our Beloved GOD accepted both Abel and his offering, but did not accept Cain or his offering (Gen 4:3-5). Just a note for those who have been erroneously taught, “Cain’s offering was not acceptable because it was not a blood offering”. Both blood and bloodless offerings were acceptable to GOD (Lev chapters 1-7). Bloodless offerings from the fruit of the ground including grain were also acceptable for three reasons. First, when the offeror was so poor they could not afford to make a blood offering, our Beloved LORD GOD accepted grain as their offering for sin (Lev 5:1-13). Second, bloodless offerings were also acceptable as thanksgiving for HIS provision (Exd 23:16-19, Exd 34:26), and for worship (Mal 1:11). And finally bloodless offerings symbolizes our lives after salvation (we are living and holy sacrifices ― Rom 12:1, 1 Cor 6:20).

Why then would a person and their offering not be acceptable to GOD?
• When one chooses a life of sin (Pro 3:32, Pro 6:16-19, Pro 11:20, Pro 15:8-9, Isa 1:10-17, Jer 14:10-12)
• When one’s best is not offered (1 Sam 1:3, 1 Sam 2:12-17, Mal 1:6-10)
• When one begrudgingly gives (2 Cor 9:7, Deu 15:7-11, 2 Cor 8:12)

What makes a person and their offering acceptable to GOD?
 • When one chooses to know, trust and obey HIM (Exd 34:13, Psa 25:4-5, Psa 119:33, Luk 3:21-22, Jhn 8:29, Eph 5:6-11, Heb 11:6)
 • When one like Abel desires to give GOD their very best. Abel gave of his firstlings (Gen 4:4). Firstlings are the first of a kind, the first fruit, the first produce, or the first offspring of an animal (Exd 13:1-2).

Could Cain’s offering ever become acceptable? Yes, in fact our Beloved LORD GOD told Cain how is offering could become acceptable (Gen 4:6-7). HE told Cain “to do well” or do what is right in the sight of GOD (Act 10:35). When our heart is right before our Beloved LORD GOD so our offerings (Eph 5:1-2, Rom 12:1, Heb 13:15). And if our heart is not right toward our Beloved LORD GOD neither is our offerings (Pro 28:9).

And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence
So as to realize the full assurance of hope until the end
So that you will not be sluggish
But imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises
Hebrews 6:11-12

Why Did JESUS COME (Part Three – Those who will be Saved)

Beholding and Believing JESUSFor this is the will of MY FATHER
That everyone who beholds The SON and believes in HIM will have eternal life
And I MYSELF will raise him up on the last day
John 6:40

In John 6:40 our Beloved JESUS tells us more specifically about those who will be saved. HE tells us, those who both behold and believe in HIM, will not suffer eternal destruction. It is these who will be awakened in the first resurrection to eternal life and reward.

Exactly what does JESUS CHRIST save us from? Our Beloved JESUS CHRIST saves (delivers, protects, rescues, keep safe and sound) from many things. And to understand this we must look at HIS salvation of us over a continuum:
Immediately upon accepting our merciful GOD’s gift of salvation (Rom 6:23) by believing in JESUS CHRIST (Jhn 3:16, Act 16:31):
o We are saved from Satan’s authority over us (Act 26:18, Col 1:13)
o We are delivered from the bondage of sin (Mat 1:21, Jhn 1:29, 1 Jhn 3:5―Rom 6:1-23, Rom 8:2)
o We are given eternal life (Jhn 5:24, Jhn 12:44, Jhn 20:31, 1 Jhn 5:13)
During our stay upon earth (1 Pet 2:11, Heb 11:13-16):
o We are given Divine help to be victorious over our battles against sin (Rom 7:24-25, 2 Cor 10:3-5, Eph 6:1-18, Php 4:13); schemes of the devil (Eph 6:11-18, Jam 4:7, 1 Pet 5:8) and demonic forces (Eph 2:2, Eph 6:12-18, 1 Jhn 5:19)
o We are saved out of an unbelieving, corrupt, perverse, generation (Act 2:40, Deu 32:5, Php 2:14-15)
At the end of age (1 Ths 4:13-17):
o We are saved from The wrath of GOD to be executed upon the ungodly at the end of this age (Rom 1:18, Rom 5:8-9, 1 Ths 1:10, 1 Ths 5:9, Joe 3:11-16, Rev chptrs 14-16)
o We are delivered from the final destruction of the heavens and earth by fire (2 Pet 3:10-13, Rev 20:11)
Throughout eternity we are protected from the second death (Rev 2:11, Rev 20:6) also known as:
       o Eternal destruction (2 Ths 1:8-9)
       o Eternal fire (Mat 18:8, Mat 25:41, Jud 1:7)
       o Eternal torment (Rev 14:9-11)
o Furnace of Fire (Mat 13:40-42)
       o Hell (Mat 10:28, Mat 18:9, Mrk 9:43-48)
o The lake of fire (Rev 20:12-15, Rev 21:8)

JESUS tells us in John 6:40, those who behold and believe in HIM will have eternal life. Two questions arise:
1. In this present day, how does one behold JESUS CHRIST?
2. What does it mean to believe in JESUS CHRIST?

In this present day, how does one behold JESUS CHRIST? We must understand the word “behold”. The English word “behold” was transliterated from the Greek word “theoreo” (NT: 2334) and it means more than just seeing, it means:
o Perceiving (to grasp mentally, to take hold of, to have understanding), as Job did in his direct communication with GOD (Job chptrs 38-41). It was after this personal level of communication with our Beloved GOD, that Job declared “I have heard of YOU by the hearing of the ear; but now my eyes see you!” (Job 42:5)
o Careful observation by examining closely, or paying special attention to, as the faithful follower of JESUS CHRIST when being taught by The Holy SPIRIT (Jhn 14:26, Jhn 16:13, 1 Cor 2:10-16, 1 Jhn 2:27, Psa 119:97-105)
o Personal experience with ― as experienced by the Samaritans from the city of Sychar (Jhn 4:4-42); or Saul on the road to Damascus (Act 9:1-17, Act 26:12-18, 1 Cor 15:3-8). Job described this experience in Job 29:11; “for when the ear heard, it called me blessed. And when the eye saw, it gave witness of me.” At the initial hearing about our Beloved LORD JESUS CHRIST we blessed HIM (Rom 10:13-17), but when HE opened the eyes of our heart by giving us wisdom and revelation through HIS Holy SPIRIT so that we might have a true knowledge of HIM (Eph 1:17-18) we became HIS witnesses (Act 1:8, Luk 24:44-48, Heb 11:1-40, Heb 12:1-3).

To behold our Beloved JESUS means to have personal knowledge of HIM, not just the initial level of knowledge which comes from hearing about HIM. The deeper personal knowledge of HIM, which comes through a personal relationship with HIM.

What does it mean “to have a personal relationship with JESUS CHRIST”? It is much like any other intimate relationship where you know and are known by the one you are personally involved with (Jhn 10:14, Jhn 10:27, 1 Cor 8:3, Gal 4:9, 2 Tim 2:19, 1 Jhn 2:3-6):
o You get to know each other. JESUS already knows you, even more than you know yourself (Psa 139:1-4, Jer 17:9-10, Mat 9:3-4, Jhn 2:24-25, Heb 4:13). But you get to know HIM by inviting HIM into your heart (Rev 3:20), seeking HIS presence (Psa 27:8, Psa 105:4, Luk 11:5-10) through, prayer, study of HIS WORD (The BIBLE), meditation and worship. When you communicate with HIM through prayer, you talk privately with HIM about situations, circumstances, others, and yourself (Mat 6:5-15, Php 4:6, Eph 6:18, Jam 5:16). When you study HIS WORD, you are reading HIS thoughts, asking HIM for clarification of those thoughts with supporting passages of Scripture, as you get to know HIS ways (Exd 33:13, Psa 25:4, Psa 86:11, Psa 119:33-38, Rom 12:2). When you meditate, you think carefully about HIS WORD you have studied, and what it means as you ask HIM how to walk it out in your life (Jos 1:8, Psa 119:15-16, Psa 119:48). Also during meditation you reflect on HIM and HIS goodness (Psa 63:6-8, Psa 77:12-14, Psa 103:1-10, Psa 145:5). And when you worship HIM, you are seeking to please HIM out of love and respect by walking in the things you learned from HIS WORD (Eph 5:10, Psa 119:1-8, Luk 11:28, Jam 1:25)
o You forsake previous relationships and behaviors that are hostile to your relationship with HIM (Jhn 15:19, 1 Cor 15:33, 2 Cor 6:14-18, Jam 4:4, 1 Jhn 2:15-17)

What does it mean to believe in JESUS CHRIST? It means much more than an acceptance that certain things are true or real. Not only do you accept that JESUS CHRIST is real, and truly the only way to salvation (Act 4:10-12, Tit 2:11, Tit 3:4-6), but you have a trust in HIM that is so complete and a reliance upon HIS WORD that is so absolute, that your faith in HIM does not waver regardless of circumstances (Job 1:13-22, Dan 3:12-30).

How can I get this level of belief? Only through our Beloved JESUS CHRIST. It is HE that gives the initial faith needed to believe in HIM to take that first step toward salvation (Heb 12:2). It is also HIM, WHO over time and through various situations cause those who will trust and love HIM (Jhn 14:15, Jhn 14:21, Jhn 14:23-24), to rely on HIM more and more, as they personally witness HIS faithfulness (Psa 37:25, 2 Tim 2:11-13, 1 Cor 1:9, 1 Ths 5:24) and the faithfulness of HIS WORD in their lives (Isa 55:10-11, Jer 1:12, Luk 16:17).

“So let us know, let us press on to know the LORD.
HIS going forth is as certain as the dawn;
And HE will come to us like the rain,
Like the spring rain watering the earth.”
Hosea 6:3

Why Did JESUS COME (Part Two – Defining The FATHER’s Will)

The Will of HIM WHO sent METhis is the will of HIM who sent ME
That of all that HE has given ME, I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day.
John 6:39

In John 6:39, our Beloved JESUS tells us three things about our Loving FATHER’s will for HIM:
1) That all has been given to HIM, including the souls of men who come to JESUS. Those men would not have come to HIM unless ABBA FATHER drew them (Jhn 6:44, Jhn 6:65) with HIS love (Jer 31:3, 1 Jhn 4:19, 1 Jhn 4:9-10).

Doesn’t this confirm predestination (GOD predestines certain souls to salvation and others to damnation)? No. It is not ABBA FATHER’s desire for anyone to perish (Eze 18:23, 1 Tim 2:3-4, 2 Pet 3:9). HE calls all to salvation, but only a few will accept HIS invitation (Mat 22:1-14). HE has foreknowledge (knowledge or awareness of something before its existence or occurrence), and HE knows the hearts and choices of men, before they are even made (Psa 139:1-4, Jhn 2:24-25, Act 1:24, Act 15:8, Heb 4:13). Just as JESUS knew from the beginning, of the 12 disciples HE chose, which ones would believe in HIM and the one who would not (Jhn 6:64, Jhn 6:70-71, Jhn 13:11).

2) I lose nothing, which literally means “not to destroy, devote or give over to eternal misery” JESUS confirms HE will forever save the man who comes to HIM. HE will indeed give him eternal life.

Doesn’t this confirm “once saved always saved” (when a person becomes a Christian they can never lose their salvation)? No. It is the will of GOD that every soul who believes should continue in the faith, and have a resurrection unto life eternal. But our loving GOD will not force a person to continue to trust in HIM or keep HIS gift of salvation. We choose to accept HIS gift of salvation, we must choose to continue in that salvation to the very end of our life or the end of time (Mat 24:13, Mrk 13:13, Heb 10:36-39). Judas Iscariot just like the other disciples was chosen after all night prayer (Luk 6:12-16). HE was given to JESUS by ABBA FATHER (Jhn 17:12). We have demonstrated from Scripture that it is not ABBA’s will for men to perish. Yet Judas will perish (experience the second death), because of his choices that ultimately led him to betray (Jhn 12:1-6, Luk 22:1-6, Mat 26:47-49) and reject or turn aside from following JESUS (Act 1:16-25). When we choose to cling or hold fast to our Beloved JESUS CHRIST no matter what (Jos 22:5, Psa 63:8, 1 Ths 5:21, Heb 10:35-39), HE will hold fast to us (2 Chr 15:1-2, Psa 125:1-2, Jam 4:8). HE will hold us firmly in HIS hand (Jhn 10:28). And from time to time during our stay here on earth, when we will stumble or sin (Ecc 7:20), HE has already made a provision (1 Jhn 1:9) where HE cleanses and lifts us up (Psa 145:14, Pro 24:16, Mic 7:8). HE holds us with HIS strong right hand, sustaining or supporting us (Psa 37:24, Psa 55:22). HE is mindful of our weaknesses, and gives us HIS Holy SPIRIT to strengthen us (2 Cor 12:7-10, Eph 3:16, Php 4:13).

3) But raise it up on the last day; JESUS HIMSELF (Jhn 6:40) will resurrect HIS sleeping saints and translate HIS living saints at the beginning of the very last day of this present time (1 Cor 15:42-55, 1 Ths 4:14-17, Jhn 11:23-27).

When is the last day? It is also known as the day of The LORD (Isa 3:6-13, Mal 4:5, 1 Ths 5:2-10, 2 Ths 2:1-9, 2 Pet 3:10), the day in which JESUS CHRIST will:
Return (Rev 1:7, Rev 19:11-21, Mat 24:29-31, Mrk 13:14-28, Luk 21:19-28, 2 Ths 2:8).
Destroy the antichrist and his false prophet (Rev 19:19-20, Dan 7:23-26, 2 Ths 2:8).
Resurrect both the righteous and the wicked (Act 24:15)
Judge all men (2 Cor 5:10, Rom 2:16, Act 10:42, Act 17:31, Rom 14:10-12, Rev 22:12).
o The righteous themselves will not be judged, as they are no longer condemned (Rom 8:1) having passed from eternal death into eternal life (Jhn 5:24). But at the judgment seat of CHRIST the quality of their service will be examined, resulting in rewards (1 Cor 3:8-15, Mat 25:31-40, Luk 14:14, Eph 6:7-8, Col 3:24, Heb 6:10, Rev 11:18), also known as crowns ― crown of life (Jam 1:12, Rev 2:10); crown of glory (1 Pet 5:4); the crown of exultation/rejoicing/giving praise (1 Ths 2:19); crown of righteousness (2 Tim 4:8)
o The wicked themselves will be judged; their choices and conduct during their lives (Rev 20:11-15, Col 3:25, Rom 2:4-8, Mat 25:41-46, Mat 16:27).
Destroy the current heavens and earth (2 Pet 3:1-15, Rev 20:11)
o Is GOD going to literally destroy the heavens and earth? Yes, they will literally be destroyed. 2 Peter 3:10 tells us “but the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up” When we examine this Scripture in the original language we find the English phrase concerning the heavens “will pass away” is transliterated from the Greek word “pareleúsontai” (NT: 3928) and it means to perish or be destroyed. And the English word “elements” is transliterated from the Greek word “stoicheía” (NT: 4747) and is defined as the substances of the material world (wind, air, water, fire or all the things that make up the natural environment). Finally, the English word “earth” is transliterated from the Greek word “geé” (NT: 1093) and means the earth as a whole. Several places throughout The BIBLE discuss the literal destruction of the heavens and earth (Isa 13:12-13, Isa 24:1-6, Isa 24:18-19, Isa 51:6, Zep 1:2-3, Zep 3:8, 2 Pet 3:12, Rev 6:12-17, Rev 21:1).
o What heavens will be destroyed? The first and second heavens will be destroyed. The first heaven is earth’s atmosphere where the birds fly. The second heaven is outer space, where the sun, moon, stars other galaxies and planets reside (Isa 51:6).
o Why will the heavens and earth be destroyed? To remove both ungodly spirits, ungodly men and all effects of sin from the places they have inhabited (Isa 13:6-11, Isa 24:21-22, Mat 8:29, Mat 13:40-42, Eph 6:12).
Create new heavens and earth (Isa 65:17, Isa 66:22, Rev 21:1)

What is meant by the “beginning” of the very last day of this present time? One day is as a thousand years for our Beloved LORD GOD (Psa 90:4, 2 Pet 3:8). At the beginning of the last day, Satan will be bound until the end of that day (Rev 20:1-3). Then the saints will be (resurrected) awakened (Rev 20:4-5), their service will be judged, and rewards given (Dan 12:2, Jhn 5:29) including reigning with CHRIST on that very last day (Rev 20:4-6). At the end of that day, Satan will be released from his prison (Rev 20:7), defeated for the final time and cast into the lake of fire (Rev 20:8-10). Then the wicked will be awakened to a resurrection of disgrace, everlasting contempt, judgment and punishment (Dan 12:2, Mat 25:46, Jhn 5:29, Rev 20:11-15).

As for me, I know that my REDEEMER lives
And at the last HE will take HIS stand on the earth
Even after my skin is destroyed
Yet from my flesh I shall see GOD
WHOM I myself shall behold
And WHOM my eyes will see and not another
My heart faints within me!
Job 19:25-27

Why Did JESUS COME (Part One – Doing The FATHER’s Will)

baby-jesus-in-mangerJESUS said to them
MY food is to do the will of HIM who sent ME
And to accomplish HIS work
John 4:34

In Proverbs 4:7 our LORD tells us to not only acquire wisdom be to get understanding. And in Matthew 13:19 and Matthew 13:23, HE shows us that having understanding is the difference between receiving no benefit from hearing The WORD of GOD, and both benefitting and experiencing abundant spiritual growth. So in obedience to The WORD and by help of The Holy SPIRIT of GOD let us seek to get full understanding of why our Savior JESUS CHRIST came to earth, by gaining knowledge of our Heavenly FATHER’s will for HIS coming, and what work HE had to complete.

Our Beloved JESUS HIMSELF tells us in John 6:38-40: 38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do MY own will But the will of HIM who sent ME. 39 This is the will of HIM who sent ME, that of all that HE has given ME I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day. 40 For this is the will of MY FATHER, that everyone who beholds The SON and believes in HIM will have eternal life. And I MYSELF will raise him up on the last day. We will examine theses Scriptures in the next 3 studies.

In John 6:38, Scripture tells us that JESUS came from heaven to the earth, to do the will of The FATHER.

Why couldn’t JESUS do The FATHER’s will from heaven? Because HE needed to become human like us:
        1) To make atonement for sin or become reconciled to GOD (Dan 9:4, Rom 5:10, 2 Cor 5:18-19). All of mankind must bear the penalty for sin (Rom 5:12-14, Rom 6:23) because of Adam’s disobedience to the direct command GOD gave to him (Gen 2:16-17). Adam’s sin brought both physical and eternal death to all of mankind. JESUS CHRIST had to become flesh and blood like us, so that through HIS death the requirement for sin would be paid for all time for all mankind who would accept HIS sacrifice on their behalf (Heb 10:1-10, 1 Jhn 2:2, 1 Jhn 4:10).
        2) To be a merciful and faithful High Priest, WHO understands the human battle against sin (Heb 2:17-18, Rom 8:34, Heb 7:24-25).

Did JESUS always do The FATHER’s will? Always! During HIS lifetime HE never veered from doing the will of The FATHER. In every respect, HE did that for which HE was sent to do to the very agonizing end (Jhn 4:34, Jhn 5:30). Knowing the extreme suffering and horrendous death HE would endure our Beloved LORD JESUS CHRIST still suffered and died for us. In the garden of Gethsemane, HIS knowledge of what HE as a human would undergo for our salvation, brought on a very rare condition known as hematidrosis, or blood sweat, as described by the physician Luke (Luk 22:41-44). This condition only occurs when a person is under extreme physical or emotional stress. It has been documented in soldiers waiting to go into battle, or people awaiting execution. Yet HE finished the course!

Therefore when JESUS had received the sour wine
HE said, “It is finished!”
And HE bowed HIS head and gave up HIS spirit.
John 19:30

WHO is JESUS CHRIST?

My Beloved in GethesenemeNow when JESUS came into the district of Caesarea Philippi
HE was asking HIS disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?”
And they said, “Some say John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; but still others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.”
HE said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
Simon Peter answered, “YOU are The CHRIST, The SON of the living GOD.”
And JESUS said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Barjona
Because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you
But MY FATHER WHO is in heaven
Matthew 16:13-17

As I meditated upon Matthew 16:13-17, my Beloved LORD JESUS CHRIST gave me a better understanding of this teaching moment between HIMSELF and HIS disciples; and how it applies to us HIS followers today.

Our Beloved JESUS CHRIST asked HIS disciples “who do people say that the Son of Man is?” They gave HIM the following answers for the following reasons:
        1) Some say John the Baptist. Herod the tetrarch declared JESUS CHRIST to be the resurrected John the Baptist whom he had beheaded, when he heard the miracles that were being performed by HIM (Mat 14:1-2, Mrk 6:12-16).
        2) Others, Elijah. Those who felt they knew The WORD of GOD believed JESUS to be Elijah because through miracles Elijah also brought a message of repentance (1 Kin 18:21-39). So they thought JESUS message of repentance (Mrk 1:14-15, Luk 13:1-5), was the returned Elijah to turn the hearts of the people back to GOD (Mal 4:5-6).
        3) But still others, Jeremiah. Jeremiah was the weeping prophet whose heart was broken over Judah’s sin, and its prideful refusal to listen to warnings from GOD concerning its coming destruction (Jer 13:17-19). Those who saw JESUS mourn over Jerusalem and her coming destruction (Mat 23:37-39, Luk 19:41-44), thought HE must be Jeremiah risen from the dead.
        4) Or one of the prophets. Many witnessed our Beloved LORD JESUS CHRIST strong warnings to those who continued in unrepentant behavior (continuing to willfully sin despite warnings) and believed HIM to be one of the risen prophets GOD sent to Israel and Judah to warn them of the consequences of their sinful lives (Luk 9:19, Jer 7:25-28).

Why did JESUS want to know what men thought about HIM? HE didn’t want to know, HE already knew, HE knows everything (Jhn 21:17, Job 34:21-23, Pro 15:3, Heb 4:13), including our innermost thoughts (Psa 139:4, Mat 9:3-4, Luk 7:39-48). When HE asked HIS disciples “who do people say that the Son of Man is?” HE was employing a question and answer teaching method, to help HIS disciples gain insight by distinguishing between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves GOD and one who does not serve HIM (Mal 3:18). Those who did not serve or know HIM, made assumptions about WHO HE was, based on hearsay (something one has heard, but does not know to be true) and speculation (forming an opinion or theory without fully researching or investigating). Even today, many religions (Buddhist, Hindu, Jehovah Witness, Judaism, Islam, Mormon, New Age, Scientology, Theosophy, Unitarian…) say that JESUS is a prophet, a wise teacher, a miracle worker, a mere man, or an archangel.

Is that also why JESUS asked the second question “But who do you say that I am?” Yes, the point of distinction was still being made. Divine revelation of HIS true identity, is only given to those who faithfully serve (obey) HIM (Psa 25:14, Mat 11:27, Jhn 15:13-15). This is why JESUS said to Peter in Matthew 16:17: “Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but MY FATHER WHO is in heaven.”

Why is it important to truly know WHO JESUS is? It is important for at least two crucial reasons:
        1) An essential part of salvation is a right confession of WHO JESUS is. Only through GOD’s Holy SPIRIT can we know, that JESUS CHRIST The Nazarene is The:
        a. Only begotten SON of The true and living GOD (Jhn 3:16, 1 Jhn 4:9-10, 1 Jhn 5:1), born in Bethlehem, the city of David (Mic 5:2, Luk 2:1-12). To be the only begotten SON means HE is the sole representative of the Being and character of the GOD The FATHER (Heb 1:1-6). JESUS CHRIST is the only person WHO grew inside and was birthed by a human woman whom had never been intimate with any man (Mat 1:23-25, Luk 1:26-36). HE is the one and only GOD from eternity that stepped into humanity through human birth (Isa 9:6, Mat 1:23, Luk 2:6-14, Jhn 1:1, Jhn 1:14, Php 2:5-8).
        b. Only SAVIOR (Mat 1:21, Isa 43:11). JESUS CHRIST is the only man born, that never sinned (2 Cor 5:21, Heb 4:14-15, 1 Pet 2:21-22, 1 Jhn 3:5); because in HIS human body alone lived all the fullness of the righteous and holy GOD (Col 2:9). Making HIM alone, qualified to save us from our sins (Heb 7:26-27).
        c. Only MESSIAH which translated means CHRIST (Jhn 1:41), The ONE anointed and sent by GOD (Luk 2:11, Jhn 4:25-26) to save the world (fallen man) from their sins (Jhn 1:29, 1 Jhn 4:14, Jhn 11:27, Jhn 20:31).
        d. Only LORD (Deu 6:4, Mrk 12:29, 1 Cor 8:6). JESUS CHRIST alone as LORD, has all authority in heaven, on earth, and beneath the earth(Mat 28:18, Dan 7:13-14, Php 2:10); HE is KING over all Kings, and LORD over all Lords (Rev 17:14, Deu 10:17, Psa 136:3); HE is MASTER over all creation (Job chptrs 38-40, Luk 8:22-25, Luk 8:32-33, ), and Owner of the redeemed (1 Cor 6:19-20, Act 20:28, 1 Pet 1:18-21, Rev 5:6-9).
If you have prayerfully examined every Scripture in this study, have ears to hear, eyes to see, and a heart to understand; your heart should be making the same declaration Thomas made in John 20:28. It is also why the angel of The LORD made the very specific identification of JESUS to the shepherds on the night of HIS birth; “for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, WHO is CHRIST The LORD” (Luke 2:11)
        2) Knowing WHO our Beloved LORD JESUS CHRIST is, will protect us from deception concerning HIMSELF (1 Jhn 5:9-12), by Satan (2 Cor 11:14, 2 Cor 11:3, Rev 12:9), by false prophets and false teachers (2 Cor 11:13-15, Mat 24:23-27, Rev 13:11-15), by the spirit of the antichrist (1 Jhn 2:18-23; 1 Jhn 4:1-3), and by the antichrist the man (Dan 11:31-34, Rev 13:13).

JESUS Messiah
By Chris Tomlin

HE became sin, WHO knew no sin
That we might become HIS righteousness
HE humbled himself and carried the cross
Love so amazing, love so amazing
JESUS Messiah, name above all names
Blessed Redeemer, Emmanuel
The rescue for sinners, The ransom from Heaven
JESUS Messiah, LORD of all
HIS body the bread, HIS blood the wine
Broken and poured out all for love
The whole earth trembled, and the veil was torn
Love so amazing, love so amazing
